MUSIC THEORY 101
E Period This semester-long course is designed to give students a basic understanding of music theory and its applications. The course contains lectures, activities, and projects, beginning with note reading and advancing to basic melodic and harmonic analysis and composition. Students will also learn basic keyboarding skills, complete supplemental theory and ear training activities, learn to analyze and critically evaluate music, and compose creative music projects. MUSIC THEORY 102 A Period This semester-long course is designed to give students an intermediate understanding of music theory and its applications. The course contains both lectures and activities, beginning with triads and advancing to intermediate harmonic analysis and composition. Students will continue to learn basic keyboarding skills, work on various theory and ear training activities, practice analyzing and critically evaluating music, and compose creative music projects. |
