Create a soundscape in Garageband inspired by a landscape photograph using loops and keyboards.

The photo I chose was a relaxing and peaceful waterfall. I decided I wanted to start with a flute or wind instrument and I found this catchy 3 measure flute loop and played that throughout my whole 19 measures. I wanted to add some percussion and drum to the background so I included this 70's ballad drum beat loop. To add my piano sound I played a G and C chord for about 7 measures in along with flute and drum loop. I made the piano sound very low because I found it gave this dark and mysterious undertone of the waterfall, while still playing the peaceful and repetitive flute in the background. Thanks for listening!

I chose this photo because it is symmetrical and symmetry makes me happy. Also it looks like a place where animals could inhabit, and it could be a very exciting place. The perspective and the focus on the tree is beautiful and the reflection in the water is flawless. This photo can convey many emotions at once, and that is why I chose it as my inspirational photo.

This is my soundscape project. It is a picture of a lake and mountains in the winter. When the music starts, it is an acoustic guitar playing a simple song with a quiet piano playing in the background which continues on a loop throughout the entire piece. This represents the calm setting of the picture. Then a clapping beat comes in. It is a bright beat and when I was composing this, I was looking at the picture and it made me think of the ice breaking. As the piece goes on, I add more clapping beats. To finish off the song, I added another acoustic guitar loop to bring it back to the calm setting like when it started.

I was inspired to create this soundscape because of the tranquil qualities of the photo behind the music. I wanted to evoke the feeling of peace and serenity. I chose the shaking of the maracas in the background for a light, not a overbearing, beat to carry the piece through.

For my soundscape project, I chose the image of a hot air balloon floating in the air. At the beginning of the song, the music is very calm which represents the peace and serenity of the balloon in this colorful and calm field. However, when the song starts to get more detailed and chaotic in the middle, I imagine the hot air balloon being pushed by very harsh winds and losing control. However, it then gets on its right path again at the end.
Meghna N. The picture I chose for my Soundscape project was a sunset because I really like sunsets. Since sunsets tend to mark an end with a feeling of peace, that was how I decided to make the music sound as per my ears. The picture of of a deck stretching out to a huge body of water that stretches out to the horizon. On top is the sky painted with beautiful colors of blue, orange, many more. With such a peaceful setting, I made my music mainly in E flat major with piano with a soothing sound.
